The drop-off, on Phuket’s continental shelf is situated approximately 20 miles North West of Phuket and is available for a single-day excursion, with the journey time of approximately 1-2 hours depending on your choice of boat. Out here we engage in a full day of trolling fishing as we go in search of the big one.
Overview
This region offers serious anglers their best chance of Black Marlin action. Big Wahoo often cruise the shelf, as do Barracuda and impressive Dorado. The Skipjacks are generally much bigger than their cousins caught in shallower water and Sailfish do show up occasionally but seldom in great numbers, being more prominent around Koh Racha.

Arrival at the Wahoo office
Guests arrive at the Wahoo office and a welcome drink will be served.

Departure for the Drop-off
Depart for the fishing grounds of the Drop-off. The crew will put out the lines approximately 30-45 minutes after departure.

Arrival at the Drop-off
We arrive at the Drop-off and will begin fishing the shelf, for the course of the next 4 hours.

Lunch
Lunch is prepared and served around 12.30, however fishing continues during this time.

Departure from the Drop-off
We depart the Drop-off making our way back to Chalong, fishing as we go.
17h30
Arrival at Chalong pier and transfer
Arrival back at Chalong pier, where the transfer van will be waiting to transport guests back to their accommodation.
